Visiting research fellow at the Institute for African and Afro-Latin American Research Hutchins Center - Harvard. PhD in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ/Museu Nacional). Master in Sociology from the Federal University of Ceará. Founder of the Black Community Library "Casa Futuro", which develops literature and racial literacy projects with the community. Member of the Committee of Black Anthropologists of the ABA (Brazilian Association of Anthropology) and of the Laboratory of Anthropology and History (LAH / UFRJ). Associate Researcher of the Brazilian Association of Black Researchers (ABPN).
His thesis research was awarded as one of the best in the Class of 2020 of the Harvard University Hutchins Institute Thesis Workshop. His most recent publication is the article: Creating forces is creating Quilombos: female boxers, tactical collectivity and community activism of young black women in Brazil (2022) in Les Cahiers ALHIM and Transition Magazine she published the article Corpos Crudos: black female boxers in Cuba and Brazil (2019). She is currently specializing in Afro-Latin American Studies at the Harvard/Hutchins Center, where she is expanding her latest research focused on topics such as the body, racial justice, self-defense, racialization, feminization, and hypersexualization of black women in Brazil. Antonia Araujo is also an artist, poet and writer. Araujo has been working since 2020 as an advisor to the Government of Ceara on affirmative action and racial quota policies. In 2020 she received a full scholarship to present her performance Autonomia Erótica at the II Black Women of the Future Workshop, organized by the Afro-Futurist Black Quantum Futurism Collective in Philadelphia.

Sua publicação mais recente é o artigo: Criar forças é criar quilombos: boxeadoras, coletividade tática e ativismo comunitário de jovens negras no Brasil (2022) em Les Cahiers ALHIM e Revista Transition publicou o artigo Corpos Crudos: boxeadoras negras em Cuba e Brasil (2019). Atualmente ela está se especializando em Estudos Afro-Latino-Americanos no Harvard/Hutchins Center, onde está expandindo suas pesquisas mais recentes focadas em temas como corpo, justiça racial, autodefesa, racialização, feminização e hipersexualização de mulheres negras no Brasil . Antonia Araujo também é artista plástica, poetisa e escritora. Araujo atua desde 2020 como assessor do Governo do Ceará em políticas de ação afirmativa e cotas raciais. Em 2020 recebeu bolsa integral para apresentar sua performance Autonomia Erótica no II Workshop Black Women of the Future, organizado pelo Afro-Futurist Black Quantum Futurism Collective na Filadélfia.
